Wanted to make something more.. interesting for one of my fav chars from my BHJ saga. So.. This is what started. Do not take this as TRUE DarkSoul lore, but not as a lie. It is BOTH a truth and a lie, as Nevermore would say.

Introduction

"Balence, you have GOT to be kidding me..." Kat exclaimed at the idea the CLEARLY mentally unstable Rouge (who apparently thought she was a SoulWeaver at the moment) just stated to her. "You CAN'T sneak into The Roses base and convince Jen to leave! We tried that last week! Poor Twilly almost lost part on his ear."
Balence looked at her had for a moment, hesitating. Then, she slowly removed her hood, allowing Kat to see her face.
Her face was still VERY burned, one brownish mark stretching across her eye to her cheek.
"Let me tell you something, Kat, Child of The Hidden Shadows." Balence said, distantly, yet directly.
Her voice came out in a hash whisper, her neck still as burned as her face. Red eyes glowing faintly, she sat down next to her sisters friend and captor.
"Jen means EVERYTHING to me... It was due to Magi that she became who she is. A paladin for her loss of magic. Humans for her safety." -She looked up to the roof of the inn- "Despite the fact that she can not USE magic, it has shaped her life. From the spell that formed her, to the very air she needs to live. People have hunted her for this. YOUR people. She isn't safe staying in one place. She never was. And now, I do not care what she wishes to do with her life, as long as she keeps moving on to a safer location. If The Rose makes her happy, then I shall not stop her, or them. BUT, I will not let those who have hunted her find her."
"I do not exactly understand, Bee." Kat said.
Balence sighed.
"She-"

"Jen!" Zora called. "Something wrong?"
Jen shook her head.
"Sure?"
She nodded, standing up.
"Yeah, I heard. Sorry about Steve. I'm sure they'll find him, and since he's like you, none magic and all maybe..."
She jumped at the girl, grabbing her by the neck, eyes burning.
"Jen? I don't understand... you and Steve were friends right?"
Jen tossed her to the ground hard, pointing her blade at her.
Why not kill her now, get it over with? Then she won't be able to stand in my way... but no. She's JUST slow enough to be useful..
She pulled the blade back, turning around. Her wrap-around fluttered as she moved away from Zora.

Book one ~ History and Lies

DarkSoul's are not to be trusted. Lies to hide who they are. They can't even remember what is real anymore.... Is there ANY truth in who a Darksoul is? The only one who seems to be telling the truth is Jen, the youngest. But how much of her truth is Balence's lie?
~ Warlic

Chapter One ~ Who am I?

That day was seemingly normal, save the slight glow around DoomWood that indicated the birth of a DarkSoul. A crime in the Vampiric world after Hanna came into the world. Not to shocking considering she killed half the population of Vampires by the time she was a day old.
Stories spread fast as to what this child was like. Some said she was worse than Hanna, darker and FAR more uncontrollable then even her father. Others said she was like her mother, pure evil, but driven by honor and bound to her Vampire people. She was more of a Demon like being then the others. others said she was PURE Vampire, that her father WANS'T the same as Hanna and Balence. That one was a clear lie since a DarkSoul HAD to be born to the same family or be adopted and Elishia was NOT one to leave the one she "loved", even if it was a forced engagement. How ever the two families saw this pair as a good mach escaped everyone's minds.
She was first shown to her people when she was a few days old. A thing to note about her kind, the first year they age fast. But they SLOW in age around the time they reach the time they can talk. Except Jen. She was even slower then the other DarkSoul's. Aging more like a human. She learned fast to walk and talk, but she never grew. This worried the other Vampires. A human like DarkSoul only ever happened ONCE. Little is known as to what happened to this DarkSoul or what her name even was. Or his. Could be anyone.
Fear ran ramped. With Hanna still in the age where one is driven by hunger more then any form of honor, and now this new fret... anything could happen. It didn't take long for the Paladin Order to hear about this child. They were ordered to capture the new DarkSoul and make sure she could not pose a fret to any one.
The paladins who were told to enter DoomWood were many. It is said that Artix was one of them, but this was never proven. Why so many, one may ask? A DarkSoul is hated, but HIGHLY protected by Vampires. And at this time, The Father still remained alive. Any one who wanted to go near his child would have to face HIM. That meant war.
This time, by some luck, there was no war. Apparently, someone had... distracted Hanna. When they made it to Jen, there WAS someone there. Most say a Mage, others say Necromancer. A battle broke out in front of the poor girl.
Many of those sent to take the girl had fallen. The house left a mess as if a tornado had ripped it apart. The Mage/Necromancer made his was to Jen, lifting her out of the crib where she hid.
It's unclear what he did to her... No one could ever see anything strange about her. Save the clear fact shes a Demon-vampire.
Before he could do any harm to her tho, he was stopped by a Paladin who's name is unknown. Again, people say Artix, but were you to ask him, he would fight the fact he was ever there.
Who ever this Paladin was, he then went to lock her powers. Against orders, may it be noted. They we're sent to take the girl, but not to do anything unless otherwise told. This one took Jen's life into his own hands.

Jen looked  across the room, to her only real friend here. His name was Shade. He was like her, he had his own plans. And SHE was part of them. She knew him. Loved him. But... when her plan came to light, she knew she would have to say good bye. She sighed, standing before he could look at her.
She left the room. He couldn't know she was there... She never told him anything. The only reason she'd joined The Rose was for a chance to see her sister, Hanna, again.
